[WC_STEM] IMPORTANT REMINDER: SURIS deadlines

Dear Colleagues,

I am reaching out today with a reminder. The Showcase of Undergraduate Research and Internship Symposium is fast approaching. The Whitaker Center and the Office of Scholarly Innovation and Student Research (SISR) are looking forward to celebrating our students on December 9, 2022. Students should submit their abstracts to the SURIS proposal portal by November 23rd.

Important Dates:

Wednesday, 23 November          Abstract submission portal on Formstack will close. Please be mindful of this date as we will not be able to accommodate late submissions. SURIS is limited to only undergraduate capstone and research internship projects (i.e. no graduate student or faculty presenters, please). It will be the departmental contact will be responsible for acceptance, organization, and printing of the submissions for the symposium.


Friday, 2 December             All abstracts should be approved by department contact.

23 November - 8 December Communication from SISR and Whitaker Center regarding event details will be frequent.

Should you wish to invite community partners, we will supply you with a template invitation that allows for some level of customization.
Departments arrange for the printing of posters at the poster printer
appropriate for that department

Friday, 9 December               The Big Day! 3:00-5:30pm. We will organize departments and majors according to "streets" and "street signs". A QR coded program will be available listing the student presenters and their projects.

DEPARTMENT CHAIRS: Please respond to Melodie or myself identifying your department's SURIS coordinator. This person will be responsible for student communication and your department's poster printing.
