For those of you teaching in the Fall, I’m passing along information from Dr. Katie Johnson about Faculty Course Proposals for Learning Assistants in Fall 2021. Applications requested by March 16.

The application for Faculty Course Proposals is now open on the usual website: learningassistantalliance.org<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://learningassistantalliance.org/__;!!IkmNjII!URaIaQmKfQgH1v8YdxVkvvWdKFp5OKO6Ko108tTE819piIB0Z72OXHtgG1L_rUQA$ >! We ask that you please apply by Tuesday, March 16th. Student applications will open the next day, so if your proposal is late, some of the student applicants won’t be able to see your course’s information.

For faculty who are new to the LA Program, here is more information: https://www.fgcu.edu/ous/studentresources/la/faculty/la_faculty

The LA Alliance has provided an instructional guide which I’ve attached.

Please encourage other faculty in your department to also apply! Students can go ahead and make an account on learningassistantalliance.org, and then they will receive an email announcement when the student applications open.

In case you missed it: we’ll also have some limited funding for experienced LAs to work this summer. Reach out to me directly if you are interested in hiring an LA this summer. (We won’t use the LA alliance website for this hiring process.)
